SANTA FE, N.M. — Steep Hill Labs, a laboratory that tests medical cannabis products for the New Mexico’s medical cannabis program, is suing the Department of Health and Scepter Labs.

Steep Hill claims Scepter used a public records request to the state Health Department under the state Inspection of Public Records Act to obtain documents that contained Steep Hill’s confidential and proprietary trade practices.

Steep Hill also filed for a temporary restraining order to stop Scepter from using their trade secrets and stop DOH from releasing them.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
